» Tennis Vets Tournament, huge success

On what proved to be an incredibly hot day the Tennis Vets tournament held in knowle was won by Tony Willford and Caroline Lavis who pipped Adrian Somerfield and his partner Ann Carroll to the post - a very good outing for the the home players.

Group two was won by Nick Griffiths and Elaine Edwards and Group three was won by Nick Frost and Alison Price.

With the weather so good, the competitors were able to relax on the terrace in the sunshine throughout the day.
At the close of play several competitors stayed behind for a drink in the shade of the clubhouse before departing for the customary post tournament nosh.
After deduction of expenses a surplus for the day of £182 was achieved which was subsequently passed to the local Bristol Children's Hospital "Cots for Tots" appeal.

We NO LONGER play our home matches at Firebrands. If in doubt check with our 'fixtures secretary' or 'team captain'. The address to our new venue can be found by clicking the 'fixtures' link in our website main menu.
