Description:
Sister of Bernard, Beryl Coombs joined the Club in 1955, and in 1959 was first elected to the Knowle Tennis Club Committee. In 1966 Beryl reached the final of the West of England Tournament (a week-long tournament played at Redland Green prior to Wimbledon) and in an all-Knowle Ladies’ final narrowly lost to Mary Walkerdine having won the first set. She was also part of the 1967 Division 2 ladies winning side. To this day Beryl remains a playing member
